...Smithe walks in the shadows towards Zen but not directly there either. Distracted, fearful, unnoticed, looking at Zen, Smithe searches the younger man’s gestures and face for the answer to a question not quite formed in his mind yet.
Zen senses a stalking presence in his periphery, looks over at Smithe gravitating nearer with a gaze looking thru him as if remembering the past or casting the future. He is choking on something Freudian, then says, “Tell me philosopher, what’s the Meaning of Life?”
Isn’t that obvious, suit? “NO! It’s not. That’s why I am asking.”
